After your cat exits Litter-Robot, a timer counts down, allowing litter to clump. How often do I need to empty the waste drawer?
How often you empty the Litter-Robot waste drawer depends on how many cats you have and which Litter-Robot model you’ve purchased. For single-cat households, you’ll need to empty the waste drawer approximately as follows: Litter-Robot 5/Pro, every 10 days; Litter-Robot 4, every 8 days; Litter-Robot EVO, every 7 days. For every additional cat, divide that figure in half.
Do I need special litter for Litter-Robot?
No, Litter‑Robot does not require special litter. Litter‑Robot works well with almost any clumping or scoopable litter. We suggest litter that is formulated specifically for Litter-Robot, including GreatLitter® or Tidy Cats® Designed for Litter-Robot®.
Translucent or white-colored litter (most often seen in crystal litter) may impact the litter level and Drawer Full Indicator (DFI) accuracy in Litter‑Robot 4. Litter‑Robot is not compatible with litters that are strictly absorbent, non-clumping, loose-clumping, newspaper-based, or wood-based pellets.
